Open Days Information

This Friday and Saturday (8th and 9th April), Les, Martin and Natalja will be welcoming turners and visitors to The Woodturning Shop.

The shop will be open between 9am and 5pm on both days and will be hosting demonstrations on two lathes in an outdoor (but under cover) demo area by professional turners between 10am and 3pm.

Here is the information on how to find us, and please take special note of the parking details:

Find The Woodturning Shop

We are located not far off the A31 in Hampshire with close links to the A3 and M3. Use the Google map here . . .

Parking is limited – Please consider car sharing if you know of one or two others coming and please do not park in the Garden Centre Car Park! Follow the red arrow in the map below to the yard at the back of the garden centre and follow directions from parking attendants whilst driving slowly past the coffee shop and its garden. Under no circumstances should you park on Alton Lane!

Gary Rance RPT
Gary is a Master of Turning and one of the fastest and most accurate turners in the UK. He has been working at the lathe since 1975 and customers include celebrities and the Duke of Westminster.

In the shop and teaching room, you will find these trade companies demonstrating their products for you:

Hope Woodturning

Simon Hope is a world renowned turner and maker of fantastic woodturning products. He will be demonstrating on our main lathe in the teaching room and have a selection of his tools available to buy.

Chestnut Products

Joining Simon Hope in the teaching room will be Chestnut Products on a lathe demonstrating their range of products.

Planet Tools

Barnaby from Planet Tools will be in the shop to be available to talk through their range of lathe accessories and other tools.

Hampshire Sheen

Hampshire Sheen developer Martin will be around all day on both days to talk about these popular products and will be demonstrating them in the demo area.

Robert Sorby are no longer able to attend.

Refreshments and the Garden Centre

The garden centre has been a mainstay of the village since the late 1950’s and continues to develop as family business.

Well stocked with bedding plants (and everything else for your garden), a look round whilst you are here is well worth it.

The garden centre is home to the very popular Tree House Coffee Shop which serves superb breakfast and lunches as well as excellent coffee and delicious cake!

Expect the coffee shop to be busy, so if you are wishing to have lunch, consider either an early or late lunch to avoid the busiest period – particularly if the weather is good!
