Hampshire Sheen’s Citrus Burnishing Oil leaves a silky smooth, fresh smelling food and toy safe (BS EN 71-3:2019) satin finish on your turned pieces.

This oil can be easily applied and then burnished dry in a matter of minutes, and can be overcoated with waxes or lacquers if you wish.
Use multiple coats for a water and oil resistant finish suitable for salad, fruit and snack bowls whilst barely yellowing or changing the natural colour of the wood.

Hampshire Sheen Citrus Burnishing Oil will make wood figuring and colours ‘pop’ with just one coat and leave a silky smooth satin finish on the wood surface after 2 or more applications.

~ Basic Application

1. Shake before use.
2. Sand your work down. We recommend
   sanding to at least 400, 600 or a higher grit.
3. Apply the oil using a paper towel and allow
   to penetrate the wood for a minute or two;
4. Remove excess oil from surface;
5. With the lathe spinning safely fast, use a
   paper towel to burnish the oil dry;
6. Recoat as required.
7. May be overcoated with wax or lacquer when
   properly cured.
8. Use within 12 months of purchase for best
   results.

~ Uses

Ideal for use on items requiring a satin finish. Also suitable for fruit and salad bowls.

~ Colour and Aroma

Pale translucent brown in the bottle. Will not overly darken the wood surface when applied. Has the aroma of citrus fruits which dissipates as the solvent dries. The piece is suitable for use when the aroma has completely gone.

~ Container

Supplied in a 500ml ‘berg top’ tin bottle.

~ Storage

Store in a cool, dry place ideally between 10° and 30°C (50° and 90°F) Where possible. Protect from extreme heat and from freezing. Keep out of direct sunlight.

~ Longevity – Use By

Kept according to instructions, you can expect the product to last around 12 months from opening depending on how often it is used. Left alone, it is very slow drying.

~ Food Contact and Toy Safe?

Yes. Tested to EN71-3.

~ Product Label Warning

DANGER: Flammable Liquid and vapour. May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. May cause skin irritation, may cause an allergic skin reaction, very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand, Keep out of reach of children, Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. NO SMOKING. If Swallowed: Immediately call a POISON CENTRE/doctor. If on skin or hair, take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin and/or hair with water. Avoid release to the environment, Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection and face protection. Store in a well ventilated place. Keep cool.
Lay saturated rags and towels flat and allow to dry before sensible disposal. Do not pile-up saturated rags.
