Description
Our best selling Gloss Finishing Wax is a carefully designed combination of carnauba and microcrystalline waxes suspended in a low odour solvent to enable you to build up a super-tough glossy finish to turned work that is also fingerprint resistant Food & Toy Safe when cured.
It has a stiff texture and at times (particularly in cold weather) may appear ‘crumbly’ in the tin. This is perfectly normal and is due to the very high wax to solvent ratio. When used correctly, you need less of the product than you may think to achieve a fantastic quality finish.
We believe our Gloss Finishing Wax is the toughest and most long lasting finish available and is a popular go-to finish for many turners. Supplied in a 130g (4.4oz) lacquered lever lid tin.

- Sand piece immaculately down to at least 400 grit;
- For best results, apply sanding sealer and burnish when dry;

- Allow to dry a little and then buff. (Drying times vary, depending on ambient temperature and humidity;
- Apply additional coats for a deeper shine.

This is the only wax I use and it really does bring the shine up on turned pieces and what I really like about Hampshire Sheen Wax is that it is Toy and food safe which is an added bonus.

Initially I had trouble trying to get a high gloss finish, so after much playing around I went back to basics and changed the way I did things after sanding, and now I’m getting a high gloss shine every time and only using a small amount of wax.
